Learning to use the aeroplane radio can't just be read from a book!

General

The radiotelephony training covers all the aspects of the VHF communications written and practical examinations

The courses offered are applicable to Aeroplane, Microlight and Helicopter pilots

Examinations

At the end of training the candidate may take the written examination and practical test. Please note that the practical test is taken with an RTF Examiner, of which there are a number on the school. You should allow at least 1/2 a day to complete the practical test

Training

The training assumes that the candidate has a basic understanding of the material contained in the references at the bottom of the page

The training is conducted by a PPL FE or RTF Examiner who will guide the candidates through the syllabus ensuring that all the relevant areas are covered

The training takes place at On-Track Aviation Limited, at Wellesbourne Mountford Aerodrome, Warwickshire in well equipped and spacious classrooms on mutually agreed days. Please contact us for further information

Courses

1 Day Brush Up Course - £175
This course is for fixed wing, rotary and microlight pilots who have completed all of the pre-course study material and have reasonable practical experience in using a radio in flight, such as student solo flight. The course leads up to the written examination which will be sat at the end of the day. The practical examination will need to be taken on a separate day. The cost of the written examination is included in the price

2 Day Brush Up Course - £305
This course is for fixed wing, rotary and microlight pilots who have completed some of the pre-course study material and have some practical experience in using a radio in flight, such as dual flying with an instructor. The course leads up to the written examination which will be sat at the end of the final day. The practical examination will need to be taken on a separate day. The cost of the written examination is included in the price

5 Day Intensive Course - £735 
This course is for students who have completed the pre-course study material. It is more suitable for those who are finding understanding the subject difficult, and those who have little practical experience such as balloon recovery crews and airfield drivers. The course leads up to the written examination which will be sat at the end of the final day. The practical examination will need to be taken on a separate day. The cost of the written examination is included in the price

English Language for Pilots - Price on application
On-Track are able to arrange courses in ‘Aviation English’ for those whose native language is not English. We can also provide assessments of English Language Proficiency as required by ICAO. Please contact us for further information

1. Prices include one sitting of the written examination
